Pitt County Council On Aging Meals On Wheels

Providing meals delivered to the door for those seniors who are unable to prepare their own meals and have no one to do so for them.  These seniors are homebound.                                                                                                                     Agency Name:

Days and Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday: office hours are 8am to 5pm.
Meals are usually delivered between 9:30am to 12 noon.
Eligibility:
60+ and unable to prepare their own meal and have no one to do it for them.
Only exception to the 60+ is in the case of a disabled child or spouse of a qualifying applicant
Program Fees:
Recommended and voluntary cost share of $1.00 per meal
Intake Procedure:
Referral can come from any source, screening will take place on the phone—social worker will complete an in-home assessment within 7 working days of the referral.
Service Area:
Ayden, Bethel, Farmville, Fountain, Greenville, Grifton, Grimesland, Simpson, Winterville (not able to deliver to every street or road).

High risk elderly
